I was walking through San Diego when I came across Unconditional Surrender.

I stopped for a moment and wondered how many stories had passed by that same spot.

How many people had looked up at it and thought of someone they once loved, someone they were waiting for, or someone they never got to see again.

It’s strange how a statue can hold so many memories that don’t belong to it.
